Quest Longboard Review

Quest Boards are a reputable longboarding brand that offer a huge variety of boards to riders of all skill levels, so whether you are a total novice rider or a more experienced longboarder, Quest should have something suitable for you.

Quest are known to provide fairly priced yet high-quality boards that are long-lasting, reliable and well designed. They promise that their ‘superior structure and long-term stability’ are the reason that Quest has continued to be a very popular choice for all kinds of longboarders.

And what’s more, Quest are an ethical brand, who design their longboards with the environment in mind. Their mission for their brand is to ‘help you add excitement and find adventure regardless of where life is taking you.’

Competitors for Quest include the likes of Sector 9, Atom Longboards and Yocaher boards. Atom and Sector 9 are both more expensive than Quest, whereas Yocaher is more on par with Quest boards. More on that later!

Features & Benefits

1. Deck Material
The majority of Quest longboards are made from multi-ply maple, although they do offer bamboo as well. All boards are super durable, long-lasting and reliable, due to being made of such a strong and sturdy material. Although they are so strong, almost all of the Quest boards still have a good amount of flexibility in their deck.

This means they are able to continue to offer stability and support, even when riding at faster speeds or even over rougher or more uneven surfaces or ground.

2. Wheels
Each board that Quest sells comes with high standard wheels which helps to ensure a great smooth ride and a good amount of grip to the surface below. For example, the Quest Super Cruiser Artisan Bamboo Longboard comes complete with polyurethane wheels that are 70 x 51mm in size, with a durometer of 80A.

This hardness ensures that you can enjoy a flat and safe ride even when riding over rougher grounds. The wheels on offer by Quest are often very supportive which helps to prevent wheel bite.

3. Design
The look and design of Quest boards are simplistic yet attractive and unique. Each board is different from the next; many Quest boards feature interesting and colorful patterns.

Some boards are bright and vibrant, whilst others feature wood carvings that make them look classy and simple, yet highly attractive all the same. There really is something on offer for anyone’s taste and unique preference with Quest.

4. Durability
Due to their high quality deck material as well as their great accessories such as high standard wheels, trucks and bearings etc; Quest boards make very durable and strong longboards. They have a reputation of maintaining a good stability and reliability and are boards that will be long-lasting.

You can be sure that you will be able to use your Quest longboard for a long time after you purchase it. Whether you are a total beginner to longboarding, or a more advanced rider with plenty of experience, your Quest longboard will become a firm favorite, we are sure!

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING A QUEST LONGBOARD

1. What will you use your longboard for?
Before rushing out to purchase a Quest board, you need to ensure you know exactly what uses your longboard will have. For example, are you a beginner who wants to get into longboarding?

Then you may want to look into the Quest Super Cruiser Bamboo Board, as it has a larger size which can help novice riders get a hang of their balance and stability. If you more of an intermediate or advanced rider, then you may want to think about purchasing the Quest Super Cruiser REMIX board.

2. Who should buy a Quest longboard?
The beauty of Quest longboards is that they offer a huge amount of versatility and variety when it comes to what they can do. If you are looking for a board that you can use for the likes of commuting, carving, cruising, urban riding or relaxed freeriding, then you will be happy with almost any style of Quest board that is on offer.

3. Who shouldn’t buy a Quest longboard?
Although you will be happy with a Quest longboard as an advanced rider, there will be some skills that your Quest board may not be able to achieve. If you are looking for a board that will allow you to perform extreme tricks or a board that you can use for high level performance purposes, then you may need to look elsewhere for a board that will totally satisfy your requirements.

Sector 9 also have more accessories on offer to their customers, including clothing, wheels and much more. However, Sector 9 boards are much higher in price than that of Quest boards. Similar to Quest longboards, Yocaher longboards are a fairly newly established brand who came to the market in 2001. Originally Yocaher was born as a skateboard brand, but with the popularity of longboards coming into play, Yocaher began designing longboards and have built a great reputation for them in the last five years.

Again similar to Quest, Yocaher boards are best used for carving, cruising and downhill riding. They also offer a variety of deck styles, including pintails, drop down decks and drop through boards. For high level performance or extreme skills, then a Yocaher board will not be the best option for you.

And nearly all of the Yocaher boards are made from canadian maple, which makes them very durable and strong, yet flexible enough for smooth and sturdy riding. Compared to Quest boards, Yocaher boards are similar in price, with some being slightly more pricey than others.

Again, Atom Longboards are a brand that are still fairly new to the market. As a company, they were established in 2005, but have become a renowned and well-respected longboarding brand over their shorter years. They offer their customers boards of all styles and designs, and all with some of the best technical components and materials that a longboard should feature.

They have plenty on offer and say, ‘Whether you’re looking to cruise around campus in style, bomb your favorite local hill, or just carve it up, Atom has a board specifically tailored to your needs and budget.’ You can get drop through boards, pintail boards, drop deck boards, off road boards and even electric boards.

In comparison to Quest, Atom boards are much pricier, so if you are on a budget then this might not be the best choice for you just yet.

Comparison to Quest longboards:
👉Much more expensive.
👉 Similar riding styles available.
👉 More variety available.
