Are you a new longboard rider who is looking for an inexpensive yet still high quality board? Perhaps you are a novice rider who wants a board that will be suitable to learn new skills without blowing hundreds of dollars on a board you aren’t quite ready for just yet?
Well, I have good news for you! I was in this position not too long ago, and wanted a board that suffice until I had gained some confidence in balance, stability and riding in general. I had heard a little bit about Rimable longboards, but didn’t know enough to go ahead and purchase one right away.
So I searched around online to find out whether this brand would be right for me. When I was just starting out, I wished there was a site or article that would help me figure out all about Rimable longboards in one place. And now luckily for you, there is! Check out my Rimable Longboard Review below.
What are Rimable Longboards?
Rimable is a company that is based in China and offers a huge amount of variety in their products. They sell skateboards, in-line skates, longboards, accessories and more in their extensive product line.
There has been some confusion about their products in the industry, because they do not actually have their own website and therefore customer service is non-existent. However saying that, they sell on the websites such as Amazon and their reviews all seem to be quite positive.
They offer good solid maple longboards that are all very fairly priced. Compared to market leaders including Landyachtz, Atom and White Wave boards, Rimable offer much cheaper boards.
Who are Rimable Longboards for?
Rimable Longboards are best for people who are starting out with longboarding and are looking for a board that comes complete and is ready to go as soon as it arrives in the mail. They are also good for beginners because there is a large list of boards to choose from that are all strong, sturdy and high quality.
At the same time they are affordable, which means you won’t have to fork out hundreds of dollars for one of your first boards. The components aren’t the best on the market, but at their price and for novice riders, they will be just fine.
Who are Rimable Longboards not for?
After my research online, it would seem that Rimable Longboards may not suit riders who are much more experienced, if this is you then you should perhaps try Landyachtz or Atom boards.
This is because as a more advanced rider, you may want to choose your components individually and make a board more bespoke to suit your skill level. Rimable Longboards are also really great for kids.
FEATURES & BENEFITS OF RIMABLE LONGBOARDS
Rimable offers many different types of decks that will suit various riding styles. For example, the brand offers drop-through decks which are great for many riding styles but personally I find them great for freeriding. Drop-through boards ‘have a cut out where the baseplate sit of top of the board with the rest of the trucks coming through underneath.’
This helps to make them super stable, easy to push and good for going fast. Next there are pintail boards. Pintail longboards are great for cruising and carving, as well as for those who are brand new to boarding. This is because they are longer in length which gives more stability and sturdiness to your ride. They also allow for smoother and more relaxed riding.
Rimable longboards range from around $30 – $80, which is very cheap compared to other longboard brands such as Arbor. Rimable boards are great for beginners who want to learn without spending hundreds. For novice riders, the price point is attractive and a great place to start. For the price, you get a quality board, but it will need to be replaced as you improve your skills.
Suitable for different Riding Styles
When it comes to longboarding, there are four main riding styles: downhill riding, cruising, freeriding and freestyle. Rimable drop-through boards will be best for downhill and freeriding, whilst the pintail boards will be good for all riding styles, specifically cruising and freestyle.
Of the Rimable longboards on offer, each has their own unique design that is bright and vibrant and will be sure to stand out. They are beautifully designed with innovative and interesting patterns that make them different to other longboards out there. You will be unique with a Rimable longboard in hand!
THING TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING A RIMABLE LONGBOARD
What will you use it for?
Are you wanting to use your Rimable Longboard to learn how to longboard? Then it may be perfect for you. Will you use your Rimable Longboard to cruise, carve, freeride or freestyle?
Then it should also be good for you! Do you plan to perform high level tricks or use your longboard as a high intensity performance board? Then a Rimable board will not be for you. Instead, you should look into Landyachtz or Atom boards.
What is your skill level?
As discussed, Rimable boards are quality boards for their price and skill level. Before jumping right in and purchasing a Rimable longboard, you need to assess your level of skill. Are you a beginner who needs a board to learn basic techniques?
Are you buying for a child or novice rider? Then this board will be ideal. If you are an experienced or more advanced rider, we suggest opting for other brands which have boards for skiller riders on offer, such an Arbor.
What do you want to spend?
Not got a huge amount of budget for your board? Or maybe you want a board that you don’t mind being fairly basic.
How long do you want your board to last?
If you are looking for a board that is for learning how to ride a longboard but you don’t mind having to replace it, then you’ll be good with a Rimable board.
Although Rimable longboards are durable, strong and sturdy, as you get more skilled and experienced, you will begin to want a board that has better components and can serve your newfound skill set in a more satisfying way.
1. White Wave Longboards
White Wave Longboards have become a very reputable brand in the industry. The first board was released in 2014, and they have been unstoppable ever since. Their main focus has not changed since their conception, which is that they want to build quality boards at an affordable cost.
Their website is really easy to navigate and their customer service seems good, too. White Wave offer boards with long-lasting graphics.
They are made of maple and bamboo boards which makes them strong, durable and reliable. Compared to Rimable Boards, White Wave boards are slightly more expensive, yet still an affordable brand, and are also good for beginners and more advanced riders.
Comparison to Rimable Longboards:
?More expensive than Rimable.
?More variety for advanced riders.
?Better customer service.
2. Landyachtz Longboards
Landyachtz Longboards are a well established brand that have been running for around 18 years. Over these years, they have managed to build a great reputation for themselves, which is built around sustainability and high quality.
Similar to Rimable, Landyachtz offer boards that are made for cruising, freeriding, freestyle and downhill, but also offer boards for higher skilled riders, high intensity performance and high level tricks.
Similar again to Rimable, they also offer accessories and skateboards. Although a Landyachtz board would be a good alternative brand to a Rimable board, they are much pricier.
Comparison to Rimable Longboards:
? Both offer high quality products.
?Much more expensive than Rimable.
? More well known that Rimable.
? Offers options for high skilled riders.
3. Atom Longboards
Atom Longboards are another brand that are fairly new to the industry, as they were established only recently, in 2005. Atom Longboards offer a large variety of board styles with really great quality parts and components.
On offer you will find drop through boards, pintail boards, drop deck boards, off road boards and even electric boards, which is a larger product range than Rimable.
Not only this, but they also offer a lots of designs and styles within each board category. Atom themselves say, “Whether you’re looking to cruise around campus in style, bomb your favorite local hill, or just carve it up, Atom has a board specifically tailored to your needs and budget.’
However, Atom longboards come at a price, so if it’s a cheap board you’re after, then Rimable may be better for you.
Comparison to Quest longboards:
?More expensive than Rimable.
?More options for advanced riders.
?More variety available than Rimable.
Overall, if you are beginner longboard rider or are buying for a child, then Rimable Longboards will be a perfect choice for you. You will receive a longboard that is great quality for the money you spend, and an excellent board for gaining confidence and learning basic longboarding skills.
Before you go ahead and purchase a Rimable board, make sure you decide on what style you are after, the skill level you have, what you want to use your board for and also the deck type that you are after. Happy riding!
